Urawa Matsuri Festival: 45th Kita-Urawa Awa Odori

The 45th Kita-Urawa Awa Odori is a summer tradition of Saitama City held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the West Exit of JR Kita-Urawa Station. Opening with a music parade by local elementary school students, enthusiastic Awa Odori dance by local troupes (ren) subsequently decorates the streets of Kita-Urawa with brilliance. Over 10 neighboring troupes, including the Kita-Urawa Aho Ren, participate, with each troupe presenting unique performances such as powerful male dances and graceful female dances. The forceful rhythm of the instruments and the dancers' smiles come together to resonate with deep emotion at the end of summer. Decorating the streets of Kita-Urawa with a music parade and Awa Odori dance, it will be a day connecting community bonds to the next generation. It will be held in light rain, and arrival by public transportation is recommended.
