About this event
"Yashio Night Market 2026," held in Yashio City, Saitama Prefecture, is an annual summer event that originated to commemorate the opening of the railway. Under lanterns illuminating the venue, people dance the Bon Odori to the tune of "Yashio Ondo," creating a summer moment where local residents can interact across generations. The theme of the event is "It's Yashio's Summer! It's the Night Market! It's Bon Odori!" Food, beverage, and retail stalls line the area around the venue, allowing visitors to enjoy the lively atmosphere unique to a night market. From dusk into the night, lantern lights envelop the venue, offering a different view of the Yashio Station front from ordinary days. In addition, a "Plarail and N-Scale Model Train Exhibition" is scheduled to be held at Mecenat Annex, a popular feature for railway enthusiasts and young children. It is an event with a variety of ways to enjoy throughout the day, even when visiting with families. Bon Odori dancer groups are also being recruited, targeting groups of 8 to 10 people of elementary school age and older.
