About this event
Soka City will hold "Everyone's Dementia Exhibition," an event aiming to create an inclusive local community where people view dementia as a personal matter and support one another. Targeted at a wide range of generations from children to adults, this event aims to deepen understanding of dementia. On the day, there will be a screening of the movie "Orange Lamp" (advance application required), a story of hope and rebirth depicting the 9-year journey of a husband diagnosed with early-onset dementia and his wife. In addition, through the VR Dementia Experience, participants can think about feelings from the perspective of a person with dementia. Furthermore, there will be panel exhibits introducing basic knowledge about dementia and Soka City's initiatives, as well as a quiz rally where challenging participants can receive an eco tote bag. September is World Alzheimer's Month, and amidst initiatives to deepen interest and understanding of dementia, this event will be a step toward creating a community where people can live true to themselves even if they develop dementia. Orange is the symbol color for dementia support, conveying warmth and the meaning of "I will help."
