About this event
"Sakado Festival" is an event aimed at promoting and fostering successors for the numerous traditional performing arts existing within the city. Covering a wide area stretching from Sakado Station to the Cultural Hall, traditional performing arts from throughout the city will gather in one place. Powerful festival float processions and dynamic stage performances will unfold. In particular, the "Godo Hikkawase," where 10 floats gather in front of the station to play festival music simultaneously in musical competition, is breathtaking and sure to captivate all spectators. Along the street venues, float processions, stationary musical performances (Ibayashi), mikoshi portable shrine parades, and exhibits will take place. On stage, traditional performing arts including kagura, hayashi, lion dance (shishimai), kudoki, and taiko drumming will be showcased. In addition, sales of food, drinks, farm-fresh vegetables, and handmade items are scheduled at various spots throughout the venue, offering plenty of activities perfect for a long autumn night.
