About this event

The "Reiwa 8 Fujimino City Peace Memorial Festival," held on Saturday, September 26, Reiwa 8 (2026), is an event to deepen thoughts on peace under the theme "Creating Peace from Our Town - What The Diary of Anne Frank Taught Us -." On the day of the event, a lecture by Ms. Fumiko Ishioka titled "Who Gave the Names? Questions from 'The Diary of Anne Frank'" will be held, asking questions about people's classifications and boundaries in modern society through Anne's words. In addition, a concert expressing wishes for peace by the brass band club of Fujimino Municipal Hananoki Junior High School will be held. Furthermore, a panel exhibition with the theme "The Life of Anne Frank" will introduce Anne's life from birth to the secret annex, providing visitors with an opportunity to think deeply about peace. The panel exhibition will be held from Monday, September 14 to Friday, October 2, Reiwa 8 (2026) across various locations: the Oi General Branch Office Exhibition Space, Citizen Exchange Plaza, and City Hall Main Building 1st Floor Gallery. Also, from Tuesday, September 1 to Friday, October 2, message panels where visitors can write their "thoughts on peace" will be displayed at each facility to share wishes for peace.
