About this event
This hiking event allows participants to fully enjoy the rich nature and autumn satoyama landscapes of Yokoze Town, Chichibu, while visiting temples during the Chichibu Fudasho Year of the Horse Grand Unveiling held once every 12 years. While walking along the course of approximately 11 km in total length, you can enjoy delicious food and drinks, handmade crafts, and fresh local vegetables. Conversations with stallholders also create a relaxing atmosphere. Highlights of the event include the approximately 11 km pilgrimage hike, a bingo game where you can win prizes, tasting Chichibu gourmet foods and fresh local produce, and the appearance of Yokoze Town's mascot character "Buko-san." Participation is free. Registration takes place at Yokoze Station from 9:00 to 11:30. A lottery will be held from 11:00 to 15:30 at the goal, Yokoze Town Hall. The event will proceed in light rain but will be cancelled in case of stormy weather. The cancellation decision will be made after 17:00 on the previous day and announced on the website. Stalls will sell baked goods, rice flour chiffon cake, candied walnuts, wood carving crafts, miso potatoes, wooden crafts, matcha and sweets, coffee, curry, Manuka honey, Japanese black tea from Yokoze, kiwi fruit, vegetables, bread, and more. A limited number of discount 100-yen tickets usable at the stalls will also be on sale.
