About this event

An experiential event themed around "washi" (traditional Japanese paper), the proud traditional craft of Higashichichibu Village in Saitama Prefecture, "Washi Fest 2026 in Higashichichibu Village" will be held. While usually held over two days in November, this year's event will take place as a one-day event on Saturday, September 12. At the venue, various workshops using washi will be conducted, alongside live performances such as powerful taiko drum shows by Ondekoza, Okinawan uta-sanshin, Ware o Sutsuru, and Kojate. In addition, a fun raffle where visitors can draw once for every 2,000 yen spent within the event will be held, with chances to double the winning probability. The "Village's Best Spots Photo Exhibition," allowing visitors to rediscover the village's charms, will also be held concurrently, offering a wealth of things to see, touch, and enjoy. Please take this opportunity to experience the washi culture of Higashichichibu Village.
