About this event
The Yawata Festival of Katsushika Hachimangu Shrine is a local festival held once every 3 years. It is a large festival brought to life by local residents working together, featuring floats, children's portable shrines, and the portable shrine procession. Food stalls and game booths also line the shrine grounds, allowing visitors to enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional festival. It is also popular with children and bustles with families. As a traditional event representing summer in the Moto-Yawata area, it is an important occasion supported by local residents to pass down to the next generation. Along with festival information, tenugui hand towels and commemorative gifts may also be distributed. As this is the grand festival held for the first time in 3 years, the executive committee is putting great effort into preparations. Local festivals remind us once again that they are not just for watching, but are supported by local people and passed on to the next generation. It is cherished by many as an important event of the local Moto-Yawata area.
