About this event
Set in Nepal, also known as the sacred birthplace of Shakyamuni Buddha, this is an immersive musical journey that traverses the four seasons of Nepal through music centered around colorful 'festivals.' In Nepal, where more than 300 festivals take place throughout the year, you can experience the passion of the people and the radiance of life amid the immersive blend of festival music, visuals, and narration. Sawan Joshi, a treasure of the Nepalese music world and a sitar player active as a bridge between Japan and Nepal, serves as the guide, conveying the depths of Nepalese tradition and the breath of modern life with Japanese commentary. In a soundscape spanning an 'elevation difference of 8,000 meters' where traditional instruments from all over Nepal come together, the plaintive, trembling melody of the sarangi, the clear breeze of the bansuri, and the dynamic rhythm of the tabla resonate. This ensemble of five masters fuses the profundity of tradition with modern vibrancy, creating an emotional stage that speaks directly to the heart beyond words. It is a performance where you can feel the warm smiles of the Nepalese people and the spirit of 'Namaste.'
