About this event
"Wien Festa MATSUDO 2026" is a brass music concert featuring a total of 14 performers: 11 members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and 3 Japanese musicians who also serve as interpreters and emcees. The performers appear dressed in traditional "lederhosen" folk costumes and present authentic waltzes and polkas. Counting from its first staging in 2018, this event marks its 6th edition, offering a concert experience unique to Matsudo where performers and audience can unite as one. Next to the large tent serving as the concert venue, an eating and drinking space equipped with food trucks and tables is provided, and anyone—whether listening to the music or not—can use it free of charge. In this space, visitors can enjoy alcohol and food while taking in the Viennese atmosphere. Aiming to create vibrancy around Matsudo Station and enhance the image of Matsudo as a "City of Music," initiatives to nurture the next generation of musical culture are also conducted prior to the event, such as visiting elementary schools in Matsudo City to provide children with opportunities to experience live performances by the Vienna Philharmonic.
