About this event
Known as an autumn tradition in Narita, the "Narita String Festival" is an event celebrating and thanking for the divine grace of Fudo Myo-o (Acala) while praying for further blessings. Held on the grounds of Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple and along Naritasan Omotesando, diverse events centered around stringed instrument performances are conducted, including Monzen Narita Yose (rakugo comic storytelling) and the Narita Odori Parade. In particular, the "Dai-Honzan Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple Dedication Tsugaru Shamisen Grand Concert" by a total of 200 shamisen players is a major highlight on the first day. At each stage along the approach and the Okuyama Hiroba stage, you can enjoy Japanese musical performances centered on Tsugaru shamisen as well as "String Resonance," live performances of various stringed instruments. Furthermore, the "Keyagu Shamisen Battle" by young Tsugaru shamisen performers and the "Narita Odori Parade Passed Down Through Generations" featuring a total of 200 dancers will also be held. Surrounded by the autumn-colored atmosphere of Narita, you can spend an enjoyable holiday moment listening to the tones of stringed instruments, savoring autumn tastes, and receiving blessings at Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple.
