About this event

Set along Chuo-dori Avenue, a spectacular parade featuring approximately 2,000 performers will take place. In addition to public government bodies and organizations connected to Chuo Ward, traditional performing arts troupes gathering from across the country will participate, filling Nihombashi's main street with pageantry and lively energy. In the opening ceremony, tape-cutting will be performed by the Mayor of Chuo Ward, local neighborhood associations, and public agency representatives to herald the festival's commencement. The Oedo Kappi Parade is packed with highlights, ranging from the opening parade by local and public organizations to the Shokoku Orai Parade featuring traditional festivals and dances from all over Japan. Furthermore, the "Shokoku Orai Market," gathering specialty goods from across the nation, will be held concurrently, recreating the vibrant atmosphere of the Edo period as famous regional specialties assemble at the starting point of the Five Routes. It also presents a wonderful opportunity to savor flavors from various regions.
