Minato Science Museum in Minato Ward will concurrently hold the Autumn 2026 Special Exhibition 'Viewing Tokyo's Nature and Living Creatures Digitally' and its first-ever 'Mini Exhibition Created with Children: Let's Investigate Nature Around Us'. Through hands-on content utilizing digital technologies such as 8K video, 360-degree underwater footage, and AR maps, this special exhibition allows visitors to experience the charm of Tokyo where rich nature and diverse wildlife thrive despite being an urban center. Specifically, visitors can enjoy 'Tokyo Nature Scope' to observe creatures enlarged on a handheld monitor, 'Tama River 360-degree Tour' traveling underwater in the Tama River, 'Search from the Map: Tokyo Wildlife AR Encyclopedia' where creatures appear when holding a tablet over a giant Tokyo map, 'Call Music Maker' creating music by combining animal calls, and 'Which Creature Is It?! Tokyo Alien Species Quiz' sorting native from invasive species. In addition, the 'Mini Exhibition Created with Children' presents the results of inquiry-based activities led by children selected through an open application process, featuring exhibits packed with children's unique perspectives and discoveries. Furthermore, participatory exhibits where visitors can share observations of nature close to them are also prepared. During the exhibition period, diverse related events will be held to experience the depth of Tokyo's nature, including nature observation walks, woodcutter experiences, and lectures.
