Lantern Dedication Festival (Kento-sai)

A regular event at Anamori Inari Shrine, the 'Lantern Dedication Festival' (Kento-sai) is an August festival to entrust wishes to votive lights and pray for the fulfillment of various wishes. Nearly 1,000 lantern stands (andon) fill the shrine grounds, wrapping the area in a fantastical atmosphere. Bustling with many visitors every year, this festival offers an opportunity to offer quiet prayers alongside the beauty of the lights. During the festival, mock stalls and food trucks by the Haneda Shopping Street will also open within the grounds, further enlivening the festival atmosphere for visitors.
