Japanese name:第29回アドベンチャーin多摩川いかだ下り大会
📅 Sun, Aug 30, 2026
About this event
Set against the backdrop of the summer Tama River, this is a time-trial competition where 4th-grade elementary school students through junior high school students aim for the finish line on handmade rafts. Participants create ingenious, original rafts and take on a course of approximately 1.5 kilometers. This competition aims to create summer memories for children and provide opportunities to experience Setagaya's nature, operated under the support of various sponsoring companies, cooperating organizations, and supporters. Participating teams are limited to 60 teams, and the entry fee is 5,000 yen per team. On the day of the event, it is scheduled to be held from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with the venue being the Tama Riverbed (around the lower part of Futako-Tamagawa Park to near the mouth of the Yazawa River). To apply for participation, it is necessary to bring an application form on designated dates and times, followed by an advance briefing session, submission of the passenger roster, payment of the entry fee, and a pre-event briefing session before welcoming the event day. It is a major summer event testing children's creativity and teamwork.
