With the theme 'Deepening knowledge of disaster prevention and mitigation, preparing for disasters,' this event explores concrete actions to protect lives, property, and daily living from disasters. In the Disaster-Resilient City Development VR Experience, you can experience the effects of disaster-resilient city development initiatives through virtual reality. The panel exhibition provides a wide range of information, including Tokyo Metropolitan Government's initiatives for disaster-resilient city development, fire prevention and proper use of ambulances by the Suginami Fire Station, rescue and relief activities during disasters by Suginami, Ogikubo, and Takaido Police Stations, introduction of disaster prevention supplies by the Disaster Prevention Section, narrow road widening projects by the Narrow Road Improvement Section, seismic retrofitting and non-combustibility subsidy programs by the Seismic Retrofitting and Non-Combustibility Section, and retaining wall safety measure projects by the Architecture Section. In addition, experts will conduct a 'Fire-Resistant Home Building! Free Rebuilding Consultation' and a 'Seismic Retrofit & Concrete Block Wall Free Consultation' regarding building seismic diagnosis/renovation and the safety of concrete block walls. Furthermore, an earthquake simulation vehicle will let participants experience the shaking of an actual earthquake to raise disaster prevention awareness. The event will be held in the 1st floor lobby, 2nd floor gallery, and front entrance of Suginami City Office, and anyone can participate for free.
