With the catchphrase 'Koenji's Grand Autumn Cultural Festival,' the '20th Koenji Fes 2026,' held on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, 2026, is a large-scale event involving the entire town, set across the whole Koenji area including the north and south shopping streets centered around Koenji Station, Shin-Koenji Station, and Higashi-Koenji Station. Based on the concept of 'an event that does not turn its back on local shops' since its inception, it marks its 20th anniversary this year with the cooperation of local shops, shopping districts, and residents. Packed with the unique charm of Koenji where diverse and individualistic shops gather, this festival features a wide variety of events held all over town, including street live performances echoing various genres of music, workshops for families, food events gathering flavors from across Japan, talk shows by popular celebrities, and niche exhibitions. In particular, the thrilling 'Station-front Pro Wrestling' held in a ring set up at the North Exit Station Plaza has become a signature event of Koenji Fes. Stage events featuring Suginami Ward's official anime character 'Namisuke' and Koenji Shopping Street Federation's official character 'Psyche Delhi-san' are also popular. Since 2018, new attractions such as Manto Mikoshi (lantern-lit portable shrine) processions through the shopping streets have been added, creating even greater excitement. With approximately 300 shops participating, the event aims to create a memorable 20th-anniversary grand autumn cultural festival through fun programs that help rediscover the charm of the town.
