About this event

Barrier-Free Theater Helen Keller: Those Who Resonate, an event where anyone can enjoy theater in the same space regardless of disability, will be held at the Itabashi Municipal Culture Hall. In this performance, Tokyo Theater Ensemble Kaze, a pioneer of barrier-free theater, will stage a story depicting the encounter and journey of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan. During the performance, live audio guides conveying the actors' movements and emotions in real time, stage sign language interpretation, and barrier-free subtitles will be provided, featuring thoughtful adjustments so anyone can immerse themselves in the world of the story. Furthermore, before the curtain rises, a stage tour allowing visitors to touch stage sets and costumes as well as stage explanations will be held to heighten anticipation for the production. On the day of the performance, a marche in collaboration with welfare facilities in Itabashi Ward will also be held, making it a day to feel connected with the local community. With visual production incorporating diverse expressions and creativity, as well as well-equipped facilities including wheelchair seating, stroller parking, a nursing room, and multipurpose restrooms, the venue aims to be a place where everyone can engage with culture and art with peace of mind.
