About this event
A one-day-only event to fully enjoy autumn will be held at the Former Kasuya Family Residence in Tokumaru, Itabashi Ward, which is one of the oldest minka (traditional folk houses) in Tokyo. There will be a special performance of an Itabashi Ward Designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property by the Tokumaru Kitano Shrine Lion Dance Preservation Society, along with an exhibition themed "Autumn Harvest and Gratitude Shitsurai" by Shitsurai Sanzen. In addition, a local folk performing arts lecture titled "The Agricultural Area of Itabashi: Its Lifestyle and Transition" will be held, inviting Mr. Masahiro Yoshida, Special Assignment Section Chief of the Cultural Properties Section in the Lifelong Learning Division of the Itabashi Ward Board of Education Secretariat, as lecturer. In the craft workshops, participants can enjoy making wooden keychains with natural warmth (no application required, participation fee 500 yen) and making himmeli using straws (application required, participation fee 300 yen). Furthermore, the popular food truck "Harepan" will appear to sell bread and drinks. It is a special day where you can enjoy autumn with all five senses by watching, making, and eating. Please enjoy the relaxed passage of time unique to a traditional house.
