About this event
The Tobu District Culture Festival, held in Chofu City, is a community-driven cultural celebration themed "Exciting New Era! - Discover Your Own Cultural Festival in Tobu -". As Tobu Community Center celebrates its 50th anniversary and embarks on the next 50 years as a "new era," a diverse lineup of programs is prepared so everyone can enjoy participating in their own way together. The exhibition features works across a wide variety of genres, including photography, calligraphy, paintings, penmanship, origami, illustrated postcards (etegami), essays, darning, Zentangle, small leather goods, learning presentations, ikebana flower arrangement, languages, and introductions to school and local community activities. The opening event features performances by the Jindai High School Choir Club and the Daihachi Junior High School Dance Club, along with magic shows. The finale showcases readings, pop and gospel singing, ocarina ensemble performances, and choral singing, concluding with a grand finale sing-along by all participants. In addition, an open study session offering a lecture on utilizing AI will be held. Hands-on experiences are packed with activities where visitors can get directly involved, such as Hyakunin Isshu Karuta card grabbing, Zentangle workshops, penmanship trials, matcha green tea service, crafting small leather items, Moshibana card games, and origami. The venue will also entertain guests with a cafe and cookie sales, giveaways, and a stamp rally. Handprint art and staircase art created collaboratively by locals, schools, and group homes decorate the venue, fostering a strong sense of community connection. Prior to the main event, circle open days will also be held as a pre-festival preview.
