The Shoichii Iwahashiri Shrine Annual Grand Festival (Ina Festival), one of the three major festivals in Akiruno, is a traditional festival with a history spanning over 350 years. Thirteen portable shrines (mikoshi) and floats parade through the area, with festival music enlivening the venue. The festival is especially spectacular at night, when illuminated floats proceed accompanied by resonant festival music, and traditional performing arts are danced under the night sky. Please come and experience in person the passion and power that cannot be fully conveyed just by watching.
