The "Minato Mirai Grand Bon Odori," featuring an open location overlooking Yokohama Port, will be held over two days on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Rinko Park Plaza. Celebrating its 17th edition this year, this summer tradition allows visitors to fully experience the quintessential summer atmosphere enveloped in a pleasant sea breeze while in the heart of the city. Encircling the scaffold tower (yagura) set up in the center of the venue, anyone is free to join in dancing to familiar Bon Odori songs as well as local Yokohama ondo melodies. With a welcoming atmosphere where first-time dancers can easily join the circle, people of all generations can fully enjoy their summer evening. The venue will also host a food court and kitchen cars offering classic festival foods. After sunset, the venue is surrounded by the beautiful night view of Minato Mirai, creating a magical ambiance distinct from the daytime. Harmonizing seaside views, lantern lights, and Bon Odori melodies, it is an event where you can fully savor the summer charm unique to Yokohama.
