"Odawara Machinaka JAM 2," where a wide range of generations can enjoy food, hands-on activities, and more, will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Odawara City Tourism Exchange Center Nigiwai Plaza and Ohoribata Street. Held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, this popular event was first held last autumn and buzzed with approximately 10,000 visitors. A variety of attractions are prepared, including markets and food trucks by Odawara food and beverage operators, workshops, merchandise sales, and children's festival games. This year, there will also be a talk show on disaster prevention (from 12:10 PM), where Masahiro Nagayama, formerly of the Odawara City Fire Department, will give a lecture on the theme of "Urban Disaster Prevention" and provide an opportunity to think about familiar disaster countermeasures through how to read disaster hazard maps. At the venue, performances by Shiroyama Junior High School Wind Brass Club, the Odawara Yo-Yo & Kendama Play Project, Yosakoi, kids dance, hula, and ballet will liven up the event. In addition, fundraising activities to support the disaster-affected areas of the Kumamoto Earthquake will also be conducted.
