About this event
Celebrating the 10th anniversary since being certified as Japan's 3rd Fair Trade Town in 2016, the "Fair Trade Town Forum 2026 in Zushi," held in Zushi City, is an event to share the outcomes of past activities and think together about sustainable community development. Participation from across the country is welcomed, including those interested in Fair Trade, people from regions aiming for certification, and those interested in the spread of Fair Trade Towns. The event consists of a screening and talk for the documentary film "Behind My Clothes," a Youth Forum featuring presentations and cross-talks on Fair Trade activities by junior high, high school, and university students, as well as lectures and panel discussions discussing the domestic and international expansion and future vision of Fair Trade Towns. In the panel discussion, lively discussions are anticipated with panelists including the Mayor of Zushi, a director from Kamakura Ethical Lab, officials from Malmo, Sweden, and university students. Additionally, a market and exhibitions featuring Fair Trade coffee, sundries, and sweets will be held concurrently, offering an opportunity to feel closer to Fair Trade.
