About this event
Held in memory of Lord Ota Dokan, a paragon of both literary and military arts who passed away in this city, the Isehara Tourism Dokan Festival is the largest festival in Isehara City. It was named after the Sengoku-period warlord Ota Dokan, known for building Edo Castle and spending the end of his life in Isehara. Many visitors come to enjoy the festival not only from neighboring municipalities but also from outside the prefecture. The highlight of the festival, the "Lord Ota Dokan Falconry Procession and Hojo Masako Hinata Yakushi Pilgrimage Procession," is held with popular actors and celebrities dressing up as Ota Dokan and Hojo Masako each year, generating great excitement. To commemorate the 55th anniversary of municipal status, various events will be conducted, including inviting the "Onbashira Sato-biki" from Chino City for the first time in 3 years. In addition, singing, dancing, musical performances, and other events will take place throughout the city, making for two days packed with energy and excitement.
