Japanese name:葉山町 総合防災訓練(防災フェア)

About this event
A comprehensive disaster prevention drill (Disaster Prevention Fair) will be held at Hayama Town Nagae Elementary School. This event features various practical training activities useful during disasters, which are also part of a stamp rally, including a smoke maze experience, water supply experience, simple rescue, sandbag making, evacuation shelter management, portable toilet use, rope work, disaster prevention slipper making, and blanket stretcher/first aid procedures. In addition, visitors can enjoy exhibition booths from related organizations, vehicle displays from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), fire department, and police department, ShakeOut drills, JGSDF curry tasting (while supplies last), and food stalls such as kitchen cars. It will be a day to learn about, experience disaster preparedness, and deepen ties with the local community. In particular, the smoke experience walking through a smoke-filled room and making stretchers from blankets allow participants to acquire practical knowledge in a fun, playful way. Seeing Self-Defense Force and fire vehicles up close is also very appealing to children. For venue access, a shuttle service will operate from the Nagae Elementary School entrance to the front of the gymnasium, and a nearby gateball court will be opened as a bicycle and motorcycle parking area. Because car parking is limited, using the bus is recommended.
