Cherished as a summer tradition in Niitsu, the 'Niitsu Summer Festival' features a diverse lineup of events, including the 'Niitsu Matsuzaka Nagashi', where people sing and dance the folk song 'Niitsu Matsuzaka' through the streets, and the thrilling 'Niitsu Yatai Matsuri', where gorgeous festival floats parade through town and clash dynamically with one another. On August 2, the 'Ohayashi Matsuri' is held on the grounds of Horide Shrine, heralding the arrival of summer. On August 16, the 'Niitsu Matsuzaka Nagashi' takes place, filling the streets with vibrant energy. From August 19 to 20, alongside the 'Niitsu Yatai Matsuri', events like 'Wasshoi Hiroba' and 'AKIHABeONE' are held, bringing lively crowds to Niitsu Honcho Chuo Park and the Horide Shrine grounds. Through these events, you can experience the colorful charm of summer in Echigo.
