About this event
"Iinekka Murakami 2026" is a regional revitalization event held with gratitude to the citizens of Murakami, themed around appreciation for the hometown and serving as a bridge to the future. Welcoming its 21st edition in 2026 (Reiwa 8), this event offers a day to savor the local area and make people fall in love with Murakami even more. At the special food booth "Murakami Gourmet Feast", local chefs will serve a one-day-only menu made with ingredients from Murakami. In addition, the YEG booth will offer "Murakami Sake Camp & Drinks", featuring various beverages and the original "Special Smoothie" created by Murakami YEG. At the hands-on "Murakami Workshop" booth, visitors can make Murakami keychains to capture memories and try craft-making related to local products such as Iwafune cedar and Murakami tea. On the Iwafune Cedar Special Stage, performances starring local children will unfold, bridging toward the future. Furthermore, a "Tent Village" gathering a variety of shops including gourmet food, local specialties, sundries, and hands-on activities, as well as a "Children's Plaza" where little kids can enjoy themselves, will also be set up. Hosted by the Murakami Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division (YEG) at the former site of JUSCO in front of Murakami Station, this event fosters a sense of unity throughout the community.
