Kaga Lion Dance Joint Performance

About this event

This event aims to pass down the techniques of "Kaga Shishi" (Kaga Lion Dance), a Kanazawa City-designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property, and share its charm widely with citizens and tourists alike. Held in front of the Tsuzumi-mon Gate at the Kanazawa Station Motenashi Dome, visitors can enjoy a magnificent, powerful joint performance of Kaga Shishi. Additionally, a "Kaga Shishi Experience Corner" will be set up where audience members can physically try handling sticks (bofuri), holding the lion head (atama-mochi), and playing taiko drums (ohayashi), offering a chance to feel Kaga Shishi up close. This joint performance contributes to the preservation and promotion of traditional performing arts while providing visitors with a valuable opportunity to experience the culture of Kanazawa.
