A commemorative 1-year countdown event for the "13th National Wagyu Cattle Exhibition Hokkaido Competition" (to be held in August 2027) will take place in Sapporo and Obihiro. This event widely promotes the appeal and highlights of the Zenkyo Hokkaido Competition. It features many family-friendly attractions including entertaining stage talk shows, exhibitions by the Wa Gyu Dan troupe, Hokkaido Wagyu giveaway promotions, food trucks, and Wagyu beef sales. Official merchandise for the Zenkyo Hokkaido Competition will also be sold, with opportunities to meet the official mascot character "Wagyury." [Obihiro Venue] At Obihiro Racecourse, the event will run for two days on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13. Scheduled programs include talk shows by producers and the Wa Gyu Dan troupe, school initiative presentations, a rock-paper-scissors tournament for Japanese Black Wagyu beef, photo sessions with Wagyury and local mascot characters, and food truck stalls. In particular, on Sunday, September 13, the "Tokachi Meat Festival" will be held concurrently, allowing visitors to enjoy both the highlights of the Zenkyo Hokkaido Competition and the culinary delights of Tokachi together.
