Held in Daigahara-juku, a post town on the Koshu Kaido highway with 400 years of history, the "24th Daigahara-juku Market" is a popular event visited by approximately 50,000 people over 3 days. Fusing "new things" and "good old things" gathered from across the country, it is packed with diverse charms such as artists and craft works, antiques, greenery that enriches living, local agricultural products, and food stalls. The antique area where treasure hunters can find paintings, tea utensils, toys, ceramics, and old folk tools, as well as the craft area lined with one-of-a-kind handmade works including ceramics, dyed goods, woodwork, leather, glass, metal, paper, cloth works, and paintings, are must-sees. In addition, visitors can enjoy the greenery area featuring not only bonsai but also flower crafts and gardening supplies that add color to daily life, as well as sales of delicious food and agricultural products unique to the rural area surrounded by beautiful mountains. Encountering delicious foods where you can see the makers' faces will surely bring inspiration.
