8th Traditional Performing Arts Children's Festival

About this event

The "8th Traditional Performing Arts Children's Festival" will be held with the aim of passing traditional performing arts down to the next generation and promoting culture and the arts. At this festival, joint stage performances by children practicing Japanese dance (Nihon buyo), koto, shamisen, and more will be held, presenting the results of their dedicated practice since summer. In addition, experience corners will be set up for a variety of traditional performing arts—including tea ceremony, flower arrangement (ikebana), Japanese dance, koto, shamisen, taishogoto, and iai—allowing anyone to easily experience traditional culture. A stamp rally will also take place at the venue, offering original merchandise as presents for collecting stamps. A kimono wearing experience is also available by advance application, allowing participants to stroll around the venue in lovely kimono and try traditional performing arts experiences. Admission is free, though some experience corners may require a fee.
