The Nagano Prefecture Suwa Lake Environmental Research Center is opening its facilities to the public as an event cosponsored by "Suwa Lake Day," aiming to widely introduce the center's operations and research achievements to prefectural residents. Packed with activities for both children and adults, highlights include boarding the research vessel "Kanken No. 1" to experience environmental surveys on Lake Suwa, laboratory inspection tours, observation of plankton and microplastics, water contamination testing, and exhibits of Lake Suwa's fish and aquatic plants.
