The 2026 Clean Lake Suwa Fureai Matsuri will be held. Associated with Sewerage Day on September 10, the event aims to deepen residents' understanding through enjoyable hands-on experiences about the roles and importance of sewerage systems. The wastewater treatment plant is opened to the public, allowing visitors to experience the mechanisms and roles of sewerage that are usually not noticed. A variety of events are prepared, including wastewater treatment plant tours (Water Treatment Course, Sludge Treatment Course, Adventure & Observation Deck Course), a stamp rally, construction machinery displays and experiences, introduction of sewer pipe construction methods, panel displays regarding sewerage, panel displays regarding Lake Suwa purification and Lake Suwa Smart IC, stage events such as dance performances and calligraphy performances, experiments and observations including plankton observation under microscopes and water experiments, manhole cover exhibitions of Lake Suwa Basin Sewerage and related public sewerage, manhole card distribution, sale of used manhole covers (pre-announced on X), light meal sales by kitchen cars, and a cardboard box maze. Admission is free and no reservation is required.
