About this event

The photography exhibition 'Long Journey to the Himalayas' by photographer Naoki Ishikawa, who has observed the world from polar regions to urban streets through an anthropological and ethnological perspective along his unique journey, will be held at Chino City Museum of Art in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. This exhibition displays photographs captured across the steep yet beautiful mountains of the Himalayas, where Ishikawa has walked on his own feet for 24 years, and along the paths leading to their summits. The photos capture not only the rugged mountain landscapes, but also the passage of time at the foot of the mountains, the daily lives of the people, and the memories of every single step. In this region that has nurtured a culture of living alongside mountains since ancient times, this exhibition offers an opportunity to re-examine our connection with nature through Naoki Ishikawa's gaze. It is an exhibition where you can experience his 24-year journey through the Himalayas leading up to the summits of 8,000-meter peaks.
