About this event

Karuizawa International Music Festival 2026 is a classical music festival held every summer in the international summer resort town of Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture. Starting in 2002 as "Karuizawa & Music," it marks its 23rd edition. Seiji Yokokawa, former principal clarinetist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, serves as Music Director, inviting top domestic and international artists, amateur orchestral players from around the Tokyo metropolitan area, and music college students to present high-quality chamber and orchestral performances. Its philosophy is to offer authentic music and to construct programs from an open perspective, unconstrained by conventional boundaries such as professional vs. amateur or musical eras and genres. Staged at Karuizawa Ohga Hall and Karuizawa Andoh Museum of Art, it is a music festival boasting rich history and content, sharing profound moments with audiences.
