Shimosuwa Onbashira Highway Trail

About this event

Held under the theme "A Day to Become One with the Gods," the "Shimosuwa Onbashira Kaido Trail" is a trail running event set in Shimosuwa Town, Nagano Prefecture. Starting at Suwa Taisha Akimiya Shrine, participants tackle a full-scale mountain trail on the Long Course or a satoyama (foothill) trail on the Short Course. Along the course, runners can enjoy panoramic views of Lake Suwa, offering the appeal of sightseeing alongside the race. After the race, you can also enjoy hot springs in the historic post town along the Nakasendo trail, making it a day to fully experience the history and nature of Shimosuwa Town. Two categories are available to suit your fitness level: the 43 km Long Course (cumulative elevation gain: 2,300 m) and the 14.5 km Short Course (cumulative elevation gain: 550 m). An original event T-shirt is provided as a participation prize.
