The "2026 Minowa Night Walk," held in Minowa Town, Nagano Prefecture, is a night walk event utilizing the beautiful scenery and historic paths of Minowa Town. Participants can savor the magically illuminated banks of the Tenryu River and historical paths along with the crisp air, expansive starry sky, the sound of the Tenryu River, mountain silhouettes against the night sky, nighttime rice paddies, and the croaking of frogs. Participants will receive glow sticks as gifts, making it an attractive glowing fun-run/walk event. A new course along the Tenryu River has also been added, allowing for an enjoyable walk along a special route illuminated by PET bottle lanterns (Pet-botaru) and other lights. The purpose is to have local residents rediscover the scenic charm of the Ina Valley and foster community awareness to carefully protect the nature of the town, centered on the Tenryu River and satoyama, for future generations. A raffle will also be held, featuring special prizes such as a bicycle and local Minowa specialties.
