This is an autumn festival held in the Fukuyo district of Matsukawa Town, Nagano Prefecture. The highlight of the festival is the dedication of the thrilling 'Dai-sangoku' fireworks, in which powerful pillars of fire shoot vigorously from bamboo cylinders. This fire festival that scorches the autumn night sky is an ancient local tradition whose magnificent spectacle captivates spectators. At the conclusion of the festival, a rice cake scatter (mochinage) is held, fostering interaction between local residents and visitors. It is an opportunity to directly experience the history and power of a traditional festival that celebrates the autumn harvest in Matsukawa Town and prays for local well-being.
