In 2026, it will be held for two days on Sunday, October 11, and Monday (national holiday), October 12, at the "Tajimi Mino Ware Wholesale Center" in Asahigaoka, Tajimi City. An autumn pottery festival previously beloved as the "Tajimi Chawan Matsuri," it takes place every year on Sports Day in October and the day before. The greatest appeal of the pottery festival is that you can pick up and examine countless pieces of pottery in person. Checking the texture, weight, and the unique expression of the glaze that cannot be understood from photos alone, you can let your imagination grow with thoughts like "What should I serve on this plate?" or "I might want to use this mug every morning." The time spent finding your favorite among the many items on display feels just like a treasure hunt. It is an event that can be enjoyed not only by those looking for everyday tableware, but also by those wishing to encounter slightly unusual designs. On this year's poster, a hand is resting on the former city emblem of Tajimi (shaped like a jar), expressing how pottery is passed from hand to hand and conveying the wish for people to treat tableware with love. In the background, small patterns incorporating motifs from Tajimi City's manhole covers are arranged, evoking the distinct atmosphere of Tajimi.
