About this event

This is a precious opportunity to tour the main hall repair construction site of "Ganko-ji", a Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property located in Mitake Town, Gifu Prefecture. Rebuilt in 1581 (Tensho 9) and possessing a history of over 430 years, the main hall underwent significant deterioration across various sections, leading to a complete dismantling and repair project spanning approximately 10 years starting from fiscal year 2017 (Heisei 29). On this site tour, you can observe the ongoing repair work up close. By observing the construction process progressing from dismantling to reassembly, you can experience the efforts involved in the preservation and restoration of historic architecture. Advance registration is required to participate, and participation is free of charge. Since each session has a limited capacity, early registration is recommended.
