About this event
Held at Shizuoka City Nihondaira Zoo, "Night Zoo 2026" is a special event where you can enjoy seeing the nocturnal behavior and expressions of animals that are different from usual. It will be held on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 17:30 to 20:30 (last admission at 19:30), with a complete day/night turnover system. Visitors can enjoy watching nocturnal animals actively moving around and the zoo grounds fantastically decorated with lights and illuminations. In addition to animal events such as watching spotted hyenas eat bones, giving ice presents to polar bears, and chimpanzees having a night snack, there will also be student illumination and photo spots, juggling by street theater performers, bamboo lanterns, and music events. The use of flashlights and flash photography is prohibited inside the zoo, and some animals and facilities will not be viewable. Parking requires advance reservation, but a free shuttle bus runs from the South Exit of JR Higashi-Shizuoka Station.
