About this event
The "Shizuoka Factory Expo 2026 (FacHaku)" will be held as an open factory event where manufacturing sites in Shizuoka City are specially opened to the public, allowing visitors to experience the passion of craftsmanship with all five senses. Inheriting artisan techniques and traditional culture cultivated since the era of Tokugawa Ieyasu, Shizuoka City is a "sanctuary of craftsmanship" teeming with diverse industries ranging from metal processing, woodworking, printing, and precision machinery to plastic models. FacHaku is an interactive event where usually private factories and workshops are opened all at once, allowing visitors to observe and experience up close the delicate handwork of artisans and the dynamic operation of large machinery. This year, a record-breaking 35 local companies in the city will participate. Various events will be held at each company, including impressive "factory tours", "workshops" where visitors can receive lectures directly from artisans, and "marches" featuring proud products. Furthermore, exclusive "Artisan Trading Cards" collected by visiting factories will debut this year, allowing visitors to enjoy exploring the entire city. It is a special 3-day event to experience the history, technology, and artisan passion of Shizuoka's craftsmanship. Factory tours are free, but some workshops may require a fee. Advance reservation via the official website is required.
