The 'Shagiri Festival' will be held to experience the charm of 'Shagiri,' a traditional performing art handed down in Mishima. At the venue, you can enjoy passionate performances woven by the sounds of nimble flutes, taiko drums, and surigane gongs. Preservation societies and groups active across the city will gather in one place, and the highlight is the powerful competitive performance showcasing the results of daily practice. Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the festival is packed with special projects including the performing arts & picture book project 'Mina to Odoru Sekai,' a lavish collaboration performance with YouTuber Waragiri Batosai, and the 2nd Clash Championship Tournament. With corners where you can try beating drums and gongs, a DIY workshop to make original surigane out of cardboard, and food trucks, everyone in the family can enjoy the whole day. It is an event to experience with all five senses the essential value of 'Shagiri' handed down in Mishima since the Edo period, and a story depicting the future of a local community living together while accepting diversity.
