About this event
The "Gyokuro no Sato 2026 Summer Festival," a summer seasonal tradition, will be held at Gyokuro no Sato in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Set against Gyokuro no Sato surrounded by beautiful nature, this event is packed with hands-on activities where children and adults alike can experience summer with all five senses. A special highlight is the workshop "Let's Become Friends with Stag Beetles and Rhinoceros Beetles!" hosted by Osami Kawamoto, who is affectionately known locally as the "Insect Professor." Here, participants can have fun learning about the ecology and care of stag and rhinoceros beetles, and participating children will receive a pair of rhinoceros beetles as a gift. In addition, a wide variety of attractions are scheduled, including balloon art making, a nature experience where you can catch yamame trout/iwana char yourself and enjoy them grilled over charcoal, free distribution of gyokuro warabimochi (first 100 people), tea room experience (free for elementary school students and younger, first 50 people), mochimaki rice cake toss (from 15:00), and a marche featuring local specialties. Why not spend a day learning, playing, and tasting your fill in nature with family and friends to create unforgettable summer memories?
