About this event
This walking event lets participants stroll through Hanazawa no Sato while viewing historic houses with nagayamon gates dating back to the Edo period and seasonal flowers, then hike Mt. Mankan for panoramic views of Mt. Fuji. Departing from the Hanazawa no Sato Temporary Parking Lot at 8:00 AM, the tour visits Hanazawa no Sato—the only designated Preservation District for Important Groups of Traditional Buildings in Shizuoka Prefecture—before heading across Kurakake Pass toward Mt. Mankan (altitude 470 m). From the summit, you can enjoy sweeping views of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay, Yaizu City, Shizuoka City, and more. The tour returns along the same route, scheduled to arrive back at the parking lot around 11:30 AM. Covering a 7 km round trip, beginners are welcome, but participants should be able to walk continuously for about 1 hour. In case of cancellation due to rain, notifications will be sent by phone or email by noon the previous day. Required items: water bottle, trail snacks, rain gear, and walking/hiking attire. Free pickup from JR Yaizu Station is available (first 4 applicants).
