The "Oigawa Port Fishing Fest: The 37th Oigawa Port Fishing Tournament" will be held at Oigawa Port in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Yaizu's city status. The main event is a fishing competition where participants compete by the total weight of fish caught, with a bait fishing division and a lure fishing division. Luxurious prizes are prepared for top finishers, and participation prizes will be given to all contestants. Additionally, the "Eel Catching" and "Beginner Fishing Workshop", which were well received last year, will also be held. Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the city, the eel catching is limited to 75 people and eligibility is restricted to elementary school sixth graders and younger. In the beginner fishing workshop, fishing pros will share tips and tricks. Songs by the Yaizu Marine Ladies, dance performances by local groups, and an appearance by the popular character "Yaichan" are also scheduled. Furthermore, the "Rainbow Market" featuring food, drinks, and miscellaneous goods will be held simultaneously, and the general public can also participate.
