About this event
At the "Autumn and Travel Exhibition" held at the Komatsuro Community Exchange Hall, four autumn woodblock prints (reproductions) by Hasui Kawase, four autumn tenugui hand towels from Kyoto's Eirakuya, Akira Yamaguchi's "Tokyo Bird's-eye View 1-0-4 Ring Chapter" poster, and a 1944 (Showa 19) map of Japan produced by the United States will be exhibited. These exhibits are selected under the themes of autumn scenery and the romance of travel, serving as valuable materials that convey Japan's appearance at that time. In particular, Hasui Kawase's woodblock prints are known for their beautiful colors and delicate depictions, vividly portraying the scenes of autumn. Eirakuya's tenugui towels combine traditional design with autumn motifs, evoking a Japanese aesthetic sense. In addition, Akira Yamaguchi's poster and the 1944 map of Japan will make for an intriguing exhibition from a historical perspective. Please take this opportunity to enjoy a journey that touches upon art and history.
