About this event
An outdoor tea ceremony "Nodate" utilizing old tatami mats painted with wild herbs created by Hanako Miyamoto, winner of the VOCA Prize at VOCA Exhibition 2025, will be held in the kitchen residence (kuri) and courtyard of Honko-ji Temple in Arai-cho, Kosai City. In this special space, visitors can experience matcha while listening to traditional Japanese music performances by koto, shamisen, and shakuhachi artists. The fee is 500 yen per serving of tea, and no advance application is required. Elementary school students and younger accompanied by a guardian are free. Chair seating is available for the first 40 people. Viewing and observing the event is free. Contemporary artist Hanako Miyamoto will temporarily return from her creative activities in Paris and is scheduled to participate on the day. In addition, students from Nagoya University of the Arts, a painter from Tama Art University, a ceramic artist from Joshibi University of Art and Design, and a contemporary artist graduated from The Glasgow School of Art are scheduled to participate, offering an opportunity to experience diverse art. The event is organized by the NPO Arai Machi Net, with cooperation from the traditional music group "Seki no Ne" and Arai Yose Atsume no Kai.
