About this event

The "Shizuoka Folk Performing Arts Festival," gathering folk performing arts designated as Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties by the national and prefectural governments, will be held in the Main Hall of the Mori Town Cultural Community Center. This event provides a rare opportunity to appreciate traditional performing arts from across the prefecture in one place, including the Amamiya Shrine Junitan Bugaku from Mori Town, Terano no Hiyondori and Kurematsu no Dainenbutsu from Hamamatsu City, Fujinomiya Bayashi from Fujinomiya City, and Yaizu Shrine Shishi Kiyari from Yaizu City. It will run from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, with all seats general admission and a capacity of 700 people; admission is free. Doors open at 12:30 PM. In addition, as a kickoff event to build excitement for the festival, a departure ceremony for a special train will be held at Tenryu-Futamata Station. At this kickoff event, 50 limited-edition pin badges featuring the same design as the festival's official train headmark will be distributed.
